Family-structure Maps (Diagrams)

     All human groups have a "structure." Adults can draw a structural "map" to assess the health and nurturance level of a family they care about. A useful goal is to discern who's really in charge of each home and the whole nuclear family. Such maps can show communication blocks, exclusions, alliances, conflicts, boundaries, codependence, ranks, and authority im/balances. This is a sample map of  a high-nurturance ("functional") three-home, four co-parent, three-child nuclear-stepfamily structure:
